Radio

Cyberlaw and Business Report

On June 8, 2016, I appeared on the Cyber Law and Business Report on Cranberry Radio with Bennett Kelley to discuss privacy, cyberharassment, and the Tyler Clementi Institute for CyberSafety. The 1-hour discussion touched on several topics: CDA Section 230 immunity, the role of schools in fighting cyberbullying, the First Amendment, the barriers that victims face in obtaining justice, and so much money. It was a pleasure to have such an in depth discussion with a very knowledgeable and engaged host! Mr. Kelley’s write up connected to the show is here.

I am honored to be a regular guest on Michelangelo Signorile’s radio program on SiriusXM. I spoke at length with Michelangelo Signorile about the supreme court’s process and likely next steps now that several cases challenging the defense of marriage act (doma) and hollingsworth v. perry, the federal case challenging california’s ban on the freedom to marry, are ready for review by the high court. the interview is in two parts. click on the icon for part 1 and click here for part 2.

I spoke with Michelangelo Signorile about some of the complex legal issues at play in the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) cases, including the differences between the cases, what the “level of scrutiny” debate is really all about, and why it matters which case the Supreme Court ultimately takes. The interview is in three parts. click on the icon for part 1 and click here for part 2 and here for part 3.

Having written and lectured widely on cyberbullying of LGBT youth, I spoke with New Jersey public radio about the verdict in the Tyler Clementi/Dharun Ravi case. Mr. Ravi was the Rutgers University student whose secret videotaping and display of his roommate, Tyler Clementi, with another man resulted in Tyler committing suicide.
